Can I kick it? Yes, I can! - But with a little delay.
Why I'm delaying my launch till the autumn
I've been working tirelessly in the run-up to the launch of Jazz Cow on Kickstarter. But last week, a few areas of my promotion strategies fell apart within an hour. A tough day, followed by a busy week, these things happen. Our launch date is fast approaching, and there's been a ton of work going into this; I won't let the opportunity slip away. So I've decided it's wiser to delay a little.
Some of you may just think I'm this guy…

So am I just kicking the can down the road? Nope, I'm reworking my plans and will launch in the autumn. At this point, a greater brain may quote a profound strategic insight from Sun Tzu, but I haven't read his book. But it seems more like I'm going on a jolly jaunt in the English countryside, only to find that mice have eaten my trusty umbrella. So, to avoid a soggy situation, I've popped back to the house to pick up another umbrella, delaying my trip a little. It's frustrating in many ways, but I've had some exciting meetings. I've got some great announcements on the horizon, and it will be better for the delay. Subscribe for free to stay up-to-date with all the developments.
A few people I've spoken to recently are a little confused by what Kickstarter is. So, I'll briefly explain. Its online fundraising platform kickstarter.com to "help bring creative projects to life". It consists of four elements:
A Project. (eg. 20 min Jazz Cow Sitcom Pilot)
A financial goal
A time period to raise the money (between x and y date).
"Rewards". Supporters get rewards (usually merchandise) in return for backing a project. I've got some exciting plans.
If enough money is raised, the project will happen. If not, backers pay nothing, and the project will not happen. It's that simple.
Thanks for being part of the journey. Feel free to reach out.
I think a small delay is better than compromising on the quality for sure. The images on here are just brilliant too.
Good luch Jon
